4.0 out of 5 stars Review of The Lost Vanderbilt Smith Baby, January 24, 2009
The book really peaks your interest from the very beginning. There have been many horror stories concerning the foster system; we even hear about them in today's world. This is one of them where a child was tossed out of his priviledged world into a world where he had no advocate. He managed to survive - maybe because some children possess a resiliency that is remarkable. He lived to tell his tale so that other lost children can know there is always hope. The book is written in a simple style, as if a child is writing from his memory - probably because when Wayne remembered who he was he had many childhood issues to sort out. This is a story for all ages. It would be a good book for other children to read who have been taken from their families for one reason or another.
