| Review of The Lost Vanderbilt Smith Baby, January 24, 2009 The book really peaks your interest from the very beginning.
There have been many horror stories concerning the foster system; we even hear about them in today's world. This is one of
them where a child was tossed out of his priviledged world into a world where he had no advocate. He managed to survive -
maybe because some children possess a resiliency that is remarkable. He lived to tell his tale so that other lost children
can know there is always hope. The book is written in a simple style, as if a child is writing from his memory - probably
because when Wayne remembered who he was he had many childhood issues to sort out. This is a story for all ages. It would
be a good book for other children to read who have been taken from their families for one reason or another. |
